Dallas, Texas. Founded 1995.

A private family office for frontier biotech.

Hillman Ventures invests personal capital into therapeutic platforms targeting inflammation, damaged tissue, and tumor-based cancers. Founder-aligned, long-horizon, regulatory-fluent. Stewarded by Andrew Jonathan Hillman from Dallas, Texas.

I. The Thesis

Three priorities. One horizon.

The fund concentrates personal capital on platforms with deep biological rationale and a credible path through U.S. FDA biologics frameworks. Every investment is reviewed on the same three lenses.

Inflammation

Modulating chronic and acute inflammatory cascades through biologics, exosome science, and small-molecule pathways. Where standard-of-care still leans on broad immunosuppression, we look for precision tools.

Damaged Tissue

Regenerative therapies for musculoskeletal injury, degenerative disc disease, post-surgical recovery, and orthobiologic indications. Platforms that combine biological signal with clean CMC and a defensible regulatory pathway.

Tumor-Based Cancers

Targeted oncology platforms with novel mechanisms of action, including osmotic lysis, immunomodulation, and tumor-microenvironment disruption. The shared filter is a credible IND-enabling roadmap.

II. The Approach

Capital with operator judgment behind it.

Hillman Ventures is not a fund. It is personal capital deployed by an operator with three decades inside FDA-regulated healthcare ventures. Investments are made for fundamental, multi-decade reasons. The portfolio does not chase quarters.

Andrew brings the regulatory sophistication of a senior paralegal and an expert witness on healthcare compliance and FDA enforcement. That seat informs every diligence call.

  • Long horizon.Investments held for clinical and regulatory cycles, not exit windows.
  • Founder aligned.Concentrated check sizes with deep founder relationships. No board theatre.
  • Regulatory fluent.Pathway analysis (351a vs 361, RMAT, 510k, Pre-IND Type B) is foundational, not an afterthought.
  • CMC rigorous.Manufacturing standards, certificate of analysis, and process scalability evaluated up front.
  • Quietly involved. We help with regulatory questions, CMC strategy, and litigation defense. We do not brand portfolio companies.

Andrew Jonathan Hillman

Principal & Founder

Andrew has operated FDA-regulated healthcare ventures for three decades, including a 510(k)-cleared orthobiologics company divested in 2021. He is a senior paralegal and investigator at a Dallas private law firm focused on healthcare compliance and FDA regulatory matters, and an expert witness on healthcare compliance, hospital operations, FDA enforcement, and healthcare finance.

He was the named federal class action plaintiff in Hillman v. Ringleader Digital (S.D.N.Y.), a privacy case settled with industry-side reform and cited in the American Inns of Court Cyber Security CLE curriculum, and in Levine et al. v. Google, Inc. (N.D. Cal.).

He founded the Andrew Hillman Scholarship for Entrepreneurs (2020) and the Andrew Hillman Grant for Biotech (2026), each a one-thousand-dollar annual award for U.S. undergraduates, funded from personal savings. He established the Andrew Hillman Family Room at the Lamplighter School in Dallas with a three-hundred-thousand-dollar family gift supporting robotics instruction.
